From AI to Z: Our Journey with SoluteLabs

The Meet-Cute

SoluteLabs, an organization known for its state-of-the-art work on AI and product engineering, acknowledges a common problem: converting complex technical concepts into friendly and engaging content. Although Solute had a die-hard team in-house, they were in the market for an outsider for a fresh perspective and extra support to make their content strategy pop. With this thought in mind, Solute partnered with us, The Mediocre Co, to add the extra fizz and lessen the workload, thereby bringing a new flavor into their content mix.

The Challenge (Not For Us)

SoluteLabs needed content that was:

  • In-depth and SEO-friendly: Blogs averaging around 3,000 words, covering the technicalities of AI, Product Engineering, and more.
  • Engaging and not mood-killing: Content that would keep readers interested without overwhelming them with jargon.
  • Consistent with their brand: Reflecting their innovative spirit while maintaining a professional tone.
  • Different from the norm: They wanted content that stood out, not just another tech blog.

Oh, and it had to be consistent across blogs, website copy, and even eBooks. No pressure.

The Balancing Act

We had to:

  • Become a temporary AI and Cloud expert: We had to be the experts in everything a layman doesn’t understand about AI and Cloud.
  • Maintain technical accuracy: Ensure the content was whatever SoluteLabs was always looking for.
  • Keep it human: Write in a way that would resonate with both tech enthusiasts and laymen.
  • Avoid clichés: Because no one wants to read another blog about how AI is “revolutionizing” everything.
  • Add a dash of humor: Because who said tech content has to be dry? (We added one gif that one time and increased the number of bullet points)

The Numbers (Because Metrics Matter)

  • 10+ blogs written
  • 3,000+ words per blog
  • eBook created
  • 0 uses of “paradigm shift”

Behind the Scenes: Our Not-So-Secret Formula

Step 1: The Research Phase

We immersed ourselves in their world:

  • Studied everything about SoluteLabs’ services.
  • Learned how their solutions stood out in a crowded market.
  • Googled “What is Product Engineering?” more times than we’d like to admit.

Step 2: The Strategy Phase

We asked ourselves:

  • “Would this make sense to someone who’s new to AI?”
  • “Is this engaging enough for someone who already knows the basics?”
  • “Are we optimizing for SEO without turning it into keyword Khichdi?”

Step 3: The Writing Phase

Each piece followed our tried-and-tested process:

  • Write a draft that balances technical depth with readability.
  • Optimize for SEO without sacrificing flow.
  • Review, refine, repeat.
  • Give the In-house team the final draft.
  • Make necessary changes (barely required as we’re already perfect)

Over time, we became honorary members of the SoluteLabs team, collaborating closely with their in-house experts to ensure every piece hit the mark.

The Results (The Part Everyone Cares About)

Our partnership delivered:

  • Increased organic traffic: Thanks to well-researched and optimized content.
  • Improved user understanding: Complex topics explained in simple terms.
  • A consistent content library: Blogs, eBooks, and website copy that aligned perfectly with their brand voice.
  • Human friendly: AI was the last thing in our arsenal, human touch is all they got!

Most importantly? Karan (CEO of SoluteLabs) loved our blog writing work so much that he trusted us with improving the website content as well.

What We Learned (Yes, You Can Always Learn Something)

  • Technical content doesn’t have to be boring. It’s all about finding the right balance between depth and accessibility.
  • Collaboration is key. Working closely with SoluteLabs’ team ensured every piece was accurate and aligned with their goals.
  • SEO is an art. It’s not just about keywords; it’s about creating content people actually want to read.
  • Whatever you charge, it’ll always feel less! (If someone from SoluteLabs is reading this, We 💘You)

What SoluteLabs Got

  • Engaging, SEO-friendly blogs that showcased their expertise without overwhelming readers.
  • A refreshed website that communicated their value clearly and effectively.
  • An eBook that positioned them as thought leaders in their industry.
  • A partner who genuinely cared about making their content shine.

What You Get

If you’re considering working with us, here’s what you can expect:

  • Content that simplifies complexity without dumbing it down.
  • A tone that’s professional but never boring.
  • A team that becomes an extension of yours—collaborative, curious, and committed.
  • Free life advice if you ever need any! (They’d probably suck, but we’ll give you free advices nonetheless)

EPILOGUE: The Truth (But Funnier)

  • Could another agency have done this project? Probably.
  • Would they have Googled “How AI is changing the Marine Industry for Better?” as many times as we did? Unlikely.
  • Did we enjoy pretending to be AI and Product Engineering experts? Absolutely (we even started using words like “neural networks” in casual conversations).
  • Are we proud of the results? Well, you’re still reading this case study, so… yes.

The End (But also the beginning, if you’re considering hiring us)

We promise to:

  • Take your complex product seriously
  • Not take ourselves too seriously
  • Deliver content that works
  • Always love you with all our heart (in a non-creepy, respectful way, of course)

Here is the thing: Technical writing is like trying to explain quantum physics to a toddler while also trying to convince Google that you know what you are talking about. It is not the easiest of tasks, though we have made it look effortless through minor existential crises along the way.

If you are tired of content that feels like it has been written by a robot or worse, for a robot-let’s talk
